For many years I dreamed of making fully modelled and scenic modular battlefields. In particular, I’ve always had a fascination with the idea of modular battlefields made of hexagons. And even more in particular, I had spent lots of time thinking about a hexagonal trench battlefield, even going to the lengths of writing a feature article on how to do it for a wargames terrain magazine I was going to launch.

Then one day I realised I could and should just do it.

Within hours, I had begun the project. This is the story of the project, from planning to (hopefully) completed modular battlefield.
